Professor of the Jagiellonian University with habilitation in international law. Conciliator at the OSCE Court of Conciliation and Arbitration in Geneva (term 2019-2025 and 2025-2031). Independent expert for the OSCE Human Dimension Mechanism (term 2023-2029). Member of the Legal Advisory Committee to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland (2014-2021 and since 2024). Former Judge ad hoc in the European Court of Human Rights (2018-2024). Former Adjudicating Member of the Polish Refugee Board (terms 2009-2014 and 2014-2019). Member of the International Law Association's International Committee "Use of Force: Military Assistance on Request (Military Action with Consent)". He was also Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung, Max-Planck-Gesellschaft and the Tokyo Foundation fellow.
