Associate professor with habilitation in international law. Since 2014 Member of the Legal Advisory Committee to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. Judge ad hoc in the European Court of Human Rights (term 2018-2022). Conciliator at the OSCE Court of Conciliation and Arbitration in Geneva (term 2019-2025). Adjudicating Member of the Polish Refugee Board (terms 2009-2019). Member of the International Law Association's International Committee "Use of Force: Military Assistance on Request". He was also Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung, Max-Planck-Gesellschaft and the Tokyo Foundation fellow.

Professor Manfred Lachs for the best monograph in the field of public international law published by a Polish author in 2013 and 2014.
